Reiki
Reiki, (pronounced "RAY-kEY"),
Reiki is a Japanese word meaning 'universal life energy', an energy which is all around us and flows through all living things. It evolved from the experience, ancient teachings, meditation and research of a Japanese Buddhist Dr Mikao Usul.
Reiki passes a 'healing energy' through the palms of a therapist to the recipient. It is highly relaxing and can help with a range of problems, from general wellbeing to a specific injury.
It is a non invasive therapy which addresses the flow of energy which may be hindered by stress, illness, or just keeping up with the pace of life. Reiki helps renew this energy, restoring balance, making the body more capable of healing itself.
Reiki can be safely used on people of all ages regardless of their state of health. It may be used with confidence alongside conventional medication or natural remedies without any fear of side effects.
Clients have reported benefits which include reduction of pain, stress, tension, sleeplessness, anxiety and depression and have experienced an increased level of relaxation during and after the treatment. Relaxation helps the immune system (the body's natural repair and defence mechanism) to work more effectively.
Reiki can be carried out with the client lying down or sitting in a comfortable and peaceful environment. There is no need to remove any clothing although it can be incorporated within a massage or beauty treatment.
Treatment time varies depending on your specific needs.
